The head and neck cancer care team at Far Eastern Memorial Hospital operates under the hospital’s Cancer Committee and is led by Deputy Director Dr. Peng Yusen. The team follows a patient-centered care model, with Dr. Liren Liao, Director of ENT & Head and Neck Surgery, serving as the monitoring committee chair, overseeing care indicators. Core members include attending physicians from ENT & Head and Neck Surgery, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Oncology & Hematology, Radiation Oncology, and Radiology/Imaging. The multidisciplinary team also collaborates with Plastic Surgery, Dentistry, Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Nuclear Medicine, Pathology, Rehabilitation, Psychiatry, Palliative Care, Nursing, Case Managers, Pharmacists, Nutritionists, Psycho-Oncologists, Social Workers, Speech Therapists, Rehabilitation Therapists, and Spiritual Care personnel. Family Medicine assists with smoking and betel nut cessation, cancer screening, and chronic disease prevention. On January 13, 2022, the team received certification from the Joint Commission of Taiwan for Head & Neck Cancer Care, establishing itself as a key treatment team in Northern Taiwan.
